Khan Academy was on a mission to educate and inspire the world, and needed a visual style to match. To bring KA's values to the forefront, we developed an inviting "draw-on-your-textbook, don't be afraid to make a mess" style, with authentic, editorial-style photos of teachers and learners as the heroes.

Because KA's audience is so broad, the resulting style was designed for maximum flexibility. It can flex from playful communications for early learners to more buttoned up visualizations for school district decision makers, and everything in between.
